Fall Family Fun in Westchester County and Beyond

Halloween Themed Events, Corn Mazes & More! Updated with New Events Listed!

The Fall is officially here and with the change in season comes thoughts of Halloween family fun in Westchester County (and beyond). While many of the traditional events have been canceled this year there are still plenty of fun family activities to check out. Just click on the links below (in pink). 

Boo at the Zoo (Bronx Zoo). Annual Boo At The Zoo event at the Bronx Zoo runs on Thursdays through Sundays in October. 

Sunnyside: Home of the "Legend" in Sleepy Hollow. During October, Sunnyside celebrates its connection to Washington Irving's classic tale, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." This daytime event is perfect for young kids and fun for the whole family. As you tour both floors of Irving's fascinating home, you will hear stories about what inspired Irving to write his most famous short story and see works of art inspired by The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. 

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson. The tri-state area's biggest, most electrifying fall event returns select evenings through November 21.with more pumpkin power than ever before! Meander through an historic, 18th century riverside landscape and discover a breathtaking display - all made of jack o' lanterns! Many dates are already sold out but tickets are available for select nights. 

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Tours -- Choose from the daytime tour featuring the story of Washington Irving or the Classic Evening Lantern Tour. The daytime tour is better for young children. Dates throughout October. Social Distancing rules are in effect.

Outhouse Orchards Corn Maze -- Head to this farm in North Salem to check out their corn maze. Purchase your ticket and take a walk through the twists and turns of the maze to see if you can find your way out.

Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm Corn Maze -- To celebrate Wilkens 100th Anniversary, they have created a corn maze for everyone to enjoy. The farm is open Wednesday through Monday (closed on Tuesday) from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Barton Orchards Corn Maze -- This is not your average corn maze! Each year the five acre corn maze is custom themed, designed and grown with multiple paths and plenty of places to get stuck. Open weekends only during Fall Festival weekends.

Fishkill Farms Corn Maze -- Fishkill Farms has created a special corn maze with the theme of Reject Racism. The maze is open on weekends to anyone participating in pick-you-own apples for an additional $3 per person (with $1 being donated to causes fighting racial injustice).

Pumpkin Picking Fundraiser at Muscoot Farm (10/10, 11 & 12) -- Head to Muscoot to pick out your pumpkin for Halloween from their Pumpkin patch. Pre-registration required.

Greenburgh Nature Center's 45th Birthday Fundraiser (10/17) -- Fall fun to celebrate the 45th birthday of this nature center in Scarsdale. 

Trick or Treat on the Farm in Stamford (10/23 - 10/29)

Teatown's Enchanted Forest  (10/23, 24, 30 and 31) -- Trick and treat at this outdoor seasonal celebration at Teatown.

Trunk or Treat Candy Car Crawl at the Jefferson Valley Mall (10/31)
