Too Much Candy? Candy Donations and Buy Backs in Our Area

Organizations serving Armonk - Chappaqua - Mount Kisco - Pleasantville

By Kelly Fitzpatrick October 30, 2022

After the thrill of the trunk-or-treats, candy crawls, and taking part in the O.G. Halloween tradition of going door-to-door has subsided you may find yourself overwhelmed by the candy stash the family has collected.

There are a number of organizations that anticipate this need each year and collect for a variety of reasons.  You may find your local dentist office participates in buybacks in order to promote healthy habits.  Many organizations also provide sweet treats to veterans or active service members as care packages.

As a previous host of candy collections in a previous life, I share this disclaimer - many small businesses and nonprofits are mailing the donations to the headquarters of the organizations, and this can be a hefty cost.  Please call ahead to confirm candy is still being accepted and do not set up a satellite collection site without first communicating with the recipients.

These organizations have collection sites in our area.  Enter your zip code to find the closest one and feel good about paying some of the treats forward!
