Have you asked other parents for recommendations for indoor places to bring your children on cold weather days? The Play Place in Elmsford likely comes up more often than not.  This local gem has been in business for over ten years and offers a wide range of activities for babies on up.  

On a visit, you'll first notice how bright and airy the space is.  This is no ordinary play area.  The space stretches on and offers plenty of room for movement and running.  Tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, and an astro field are among the first things you'll see.  There's also a cafe for light bites and a comfortable seating area for families.  On the field, children can bop around on the bounce houses, play ball, or build with foam blocks.

A large, enclosed climbing structure is suitable for those 3+ and includes tunnels, slides, and bridges.  On our most recent visit, it was absolutely alive with imagination and cooperative play.  Smaller ones can safely play in the 0 - 3 area which has its own half-wall separating it from the sections for older children.  It contains a playhouse, puzzle games, and a variety of toys suitable for creepers, crawlers, and early walkers.  

Behind the main play area are spacious classrooms filled with preschoolers.  The preschool students have access to an outdoor playground, which is also open to other visitors during the warmer months.  The preschool rooms are also used for afterschool activities and birthday parties.  Camps run during weeks off from school and throughout the summer months.

Highlights:

-The Play Place is meticulously cared for.  The equipment, floors, bathrooms, and play areas are incredibly well kept and as clean as can be.

-The multi-use space appeals to a variety of ages and can be used for a number of different purposes, such as sports coaching and dance.  

-Great value for open play.  The Play Place offers a wide range of activities for a reasonable price and is considerably lower than other local options.

-Open Play hours are M - F from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

-2-hour play passes $15 child, $2 adult.

-Pass packages are available for discounted rates ($60 Tot pass good for 30 days).
