In a move that promises to improve the support parents receive in their first years of parenting, The Indy Lab Preschool, a licensed and Quality Star-4 preschool in Elmsford, NY, is set to launch its Parenting Center this September with pre-sales this month, in August. The Indy Lab’s new Parenting Center is designed to combine their current two-hour, grown-up and me “mini preschool” class called The Cooperative Preschool with coaching sessions, delivered both live and virtually, by experts in sleep, communication, feeding, motor skills and psychology/family health. Membership packages will be offered to parents of infants and toddlers with different types of in-person classes that suit the age of the child like Tummy Time for infants and First Words for tots. In addition to these in-person classes, all members will have access to monthly 30-minute virtual coaching sessions by each of The Indy Lab’s expert partners hosted in a Q&A format. Parents will get a chance to ask their most pressing questions and get real solutions in a more affordable manner and during a scheduled time that fits most families’ needs. Virtual memberships are also available for those who are unable to attend the in-person classes and only want access to the virtual coaching sessions.
The Parenting Center is the concept of Frida Matute, a pediatric speech-language pathologist and the owner and Director of The Indy Lab. Frida recognized the increasing complexities and demands placed on modern parents and sought to bridge the gap by creating a space that would serve as a valuable resource for families during their journey of raising children.
"It's a natural extension of our mission at The Indy Lab Preschool, where we focus on holistic child development and provide a safe and highly stimulating environment for our students," Frida explains. "We realized that parents often need support and resources to navigate various parenting challenges, and by creating the Parenting Center, we aim to foster a strong sense of community and collaboration among families."

The Parenting Center will offer an array of services tailored to the needs of parents with children ranging from infants to preschool age. Among the key features are:
**1. Parent-Child Enrichment Programs**: The Parenting Center will offer exclusive classes and activities where parents and children can participate together, enhancing their relationship while fostering socialization skills in young learners. These include Cooperative Preschool, Tummy Time for infants, Toddler Tumblers for tots, First Words for tots and First Bites for infants, etc.
**2. Parenting Coaching Sessions**: The Indy Lab has partnered with Rock-a-Bye Baby Sleep, Everyday Parenting Psychology, OT with Stacy and Indy Speech Services to conduct monthly virtual coaching sessions in a Q&A format to equip parents with the right strategies to tackle questions and concerns across sleep, communication, feeding, social-emotional and motor development.
**2. Early Childhood Education Resources**: Members will have access to a monthly “how-to” guide as well as a short pre-recorded video by each expert focusing on different concerns within the topics of sleep, communication, feeding, psychology and motor development.
**3. Child Play and Interaction Areas**: After any in-person class, enjoy complimentary interactive open play in zones designated for children in The Play Place’s indoor gym area where The Indy Lab is housed.
**4. Support Groups**: Parenting can be a rewarding yet challenging journey. The Parenting Center will provide a safe space for parents to connect, share experiences, and provide emotional support to one another.
