Small Business Spotlight: ARM Nutrition with Anita Mirchandani

By Anita Mirchandani and Kelly Fitzpatrick September 18, 2024

There are so many stages of women-hood that can take a toll on our physical health.  At various points in our lives we are dealing with weight fluctuations, hormonal changes, stress, prenatal and postpartum adjustments, perimenopause, menopause - I could go on and on. And it's likely that many of us didn't grow up learning the best ways to take care of our bodies.  In fact, we may have adopted bad habits that have hindered rather than helped us as we try to look and feel like the best version of ourselves.

If you are at a point in your life now where you would benefit from the support of an understanding and experienced professional that specializes in women's health and has a talent for really listening in for what is needed, I'd love to introduce you to Anita Mirchandani, founder of ARM Nutrition.

My first session is booked and I'm already looking forward to sharing more about my work as a client of Anita's. In addition to connecting with Anita when we have chatted (you'll click right away, too, she's terrific) a HUGE factor in my decision making was being able to tap into my insurance for coverage. Maybe you've also found that when you're looking for personalized support, it's hard to find it at a cost we feel comfortable spending on ourselves. Using benefits makes this an easy and emphatic YES. Additionally, Anita's expertise in exercise science seamlessly integrates two of the core components of wellness: nutrition and movement. This combination adds a depth to the work to further personalize the plan and ultimately, support you in your success.

As I've been getting to know Anita, I'm grateful that she's taken the time to share more about herself and her work here:

What is the story behind your business?  How did you get started?

Ever since I was young, I've always had a roller coaster relationship with food.  It took two decades for me to figure out that becoming a dietitian was my true calling.  I dabbled in a variety of nutrition related opportunities that eventually led me to starting my own tele-health insurance based platform.  After COVID, the ability to be virtual was a no-brainer and I wanted to build a platform through insurance so that I could help people and provide individualized nutrition support to those who really need it.

What are some fun facts about you or your business?

I am also a personal trainer with a background in spinning, kickboxing, and group conditioning.  I speak Spanish. I am based out of my home office, but I am licensed in many states.

What does your business offer its' customers?

I offer tele-health nutrition support as well as fitness programming and the best part is insurance providers such as Aetna, Cigna, and UHC provide adequate coverage for its members to seek nutrition guidance as preventative care or to address necessary conditions.

Who does your business primarily serve?

I specialize in women's health, but I also have a handful of teen and male clients as well.

What are you most proud of?

My personal nutrition journey as I continue to help others. I am always learning something new and trying to optimize my lifestyle and working on myself along the way makes me feel more motivated and energized.

Anything else you would like to share?

Sleep is my favorite focus for each person regardless of age. I am always trying to help people fix their sleep patterns or optimize them to the best ability.
