At the Nature Center at Greenburgh, summer isn’t just about sunshine and play—it’s about inspiring young minds through hands-on learning, exploration, and discovery. Our Summer Camp offers dynamic and enriching experiences designed especially for rising 1st through 4th graders who are eager to learn, explore, and grow. Campers become young naturalists as they dive into the fascinating world of ecology, biology, and environmental science. Through daily outdoor adventures, close-up animal encounters, and immersive nature-based activities, campers learn something new every single day. Whether they’re investigating pond life with dip nets, studying animal behavior, exploring woodland ecosystems, or learning how to identify native species, every moment at camp is an opportunity for growth. In addition to academic enrichment, our program encourages creative thinking, critical observation, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Campers don’t just hear about science—they live it. By interacting with our unique collection of animal ambassadors, including our giant sulcata tortoises and green tree iguana, children build curiosity and compassion while gaining a deeper understanding of the roles animals play in their environments. Campers will: – Investigate real-life habitats through guided exploration of our forest trails and pond – Participate in science-based activities that support continuous learning – Learn about animal care, conservation, and ecological balance – Engage in outdoor games and activities that reinforce teamwork and problem solving.
