Ribbon Cutting at noon.Description
Join us on May 18, 2024, at 11 am for OPENING DAY! Playland in Rye will host a ribbon cutting for the historic amusement park’s season opening on Saturday, May 18th at noon.
Opening day festivities will include a drumline procession, a special performance by an electric violinist, strolling entertainers, face painters, and airbrush tattoo artists, as well as an opportunity to take a “First Ride” on some of the newest, as well as most beloved and original rides including the Dragon Coaster, which celebrates its 95th anniversary this year.
Schedule:
11 am - Amusement Park opens with a performing violinist
noon - Opening Ceremony at the Fountain Plaza featuring the Lightning Drumline from the Obama school
Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of face painting, airbrush tattooing, and entertaining Kiddyland shows at 2 pm and 4 pm.
