Westchester County Guide to Pick-Your-Own Fruits and Veggies

Strawberries, Blueberries, and Seasonal Produce brought to you by Soccer Shots

By Kelly Fitzpatrick June 19, 2024

Picking your own fruits and vegetables is a fun, family-friendly activity and also a great way to encourage healthy eating for your kids. There are a couple of great farms to check out in Westchester and even more if you are willing to drive out a bit further.  When planning a day for strawberry or other produce picking, be sure to check the website, social media pages, or call the orchard in advance to ensure availability.  Dates for picking are not always exact and the farms will update accordingly as the produce ripens.

Other tips:

✔️Bring cash.  Not all spots accept multiple forms of payment.

✔️Leave pets at home.  Many of the farms and orchards have farm animals on site and pets are often not allowed.

✔️Pack a picnic to avoid long concession stand lines and keep little tummies happy.

✔️Check the sites for special events.  Many of the farms and orchards have live music or other forms of entertainment during the height of the season.

✔️If you'd like to avoid the crowd, try a weekday!

This Pick-Your-Own Produce Guide is brought to you by Soccer Shots Westchester.  Soccer Shots offers soccer programs throughout the county for children ages 2 - 8.  Check their website for summer fun for your little athlete!
